I want to praise God! You know, its such a joy to share the gospel with people. Last night (25/04/09) I was out with a friend in the Queen Street Mall with the express purpose of just talking with people about salvation and the reality of Jesus.

I was surprised by the receptivity. I got to talk with a wide variety of people - Hindus , unbelievers, backslidden Christians, one serious follower of the pagan religion and a young satanist of the Anton LaVey variety. All the discussions were actually quite fruitful.

The highlight for me was one young Indian man I prayed with. He actually ended up praying to receive Christ and testified that in some sense "he saw God". He had some kind of experience with the Lord and said he wants to follow him. Please pray for H. to do this. Another Indian man promised to contact me later next week about these things.

There was also a man (Josh) who was preaching very well in Queen Street Mall. People were unusually receptive. I heard that a number of the hearers put their faith in Christ that night for the first time.

We found a lot of people at Chermside were also willing to listen to the gospel. Today, young people generally are. Most come from broken homes and have never really had the gospel explained to them. I got to pray for a young man (L.) who had a shoulder problem. After prayer in the name of Jesus all the pain had left and he was able to move it freely. Despite this, the next young man whose knee I prayed for did not experience any relief at all - he was a backslidden Christian going to church though - that might explain it. So not everyone gets healed in practice. We have to learn to be more sensitive to the way God is moving with each one.

I'm meeting quite a few Christians who are keen to get into evangelism with me. I'm praising God because He is giving us a season of harvest. The first blades of wheat are starting to come forth. We can expect much more in the near future.
