Power Evangelism in Brisbane has started as a trickle!

We want to praise God for what He is doing. God is faithful to His Word.

Last Saturday night (18th April, 2009) I was out with two other evangelist friends in the Queen Street Mall area of Brisbane. We found it really easy to talk with people. There were a couple of noteworthy encounters. One was with a young man who had a sulphuric acid burn on his hand. He was hanging out with a group of young people, some of whom were sporting all kinds of body piercing, rings through the lips and so forth. I think this man had some himself. No matter.

What was great was that he allowed me to pray for his hand. He really didn't have any belief in Jesus, but the great thing was that he felt the power of the Holy Spirit go into his hand, the pain in his hand left, and the slight swelling that was there started to go down. After that he was interested enough to allow me to briefly share the Christian gospel of salvation and the Kingdom of God with him. He promised to let me know if he gets complete healing.

We prayed for another man who did believe in Jesus, but had terrible back and neck pains. He testified to feeling the heat of God's presence touch him, and that perhaps it felt 50% better. Folks, its a start. I also prayed for a young Indian man from Punjab. It was his first day in Australia. He had a back problem. On this occasion nothing seemed to happen to him. But its possible that God will heal him soon afterwards. I really hope so, for the glory of God.

Peter also led one man in a prayer of commitment to Christ.

We were able to hand out a lot of tracts and give the gospel to quite a few people on a one-to-one basis.

I believe we'll be out there regularly telling people about Jesus and praying for the sick. If you'd like to join us, please do contact us and we'll meet up with you. At the same time, if you have sick family or friends in Brisbane or the Gold Coast, who need a touch of the Kingdom of God, let us know and we'll come and minister to them (as long as we have free time - at the time of writing, we can fit it in).

If you have an evangelist's heart and want to get out there and practice Kingdom of God evangelism with us, we'd love to hear from you.
